Case Study: Services of Hope / Transformance

We were thrilled to see some awesome nonprofits succeed at our 25 Donors in 25 Days challenge in July, so we decided to turn the intensity up a notch. On #GivingTuesday, an international day of charitable giving following Thanksgiving, we challenged our partner nonprofits to acquire 24 Donors in 24 Hours through The RoundUp App. Services of Hope/Transformance, a Dallas-based organization that supports individuals and families seeking financial stability, was among the four nonprofits that crossed the finish line.

According to marketing and communications assistant Matthew Heerman, it was slow-going at the start. Fewer people signed up at the beginning of the day, and some of the less tech-savvy donors took a little longer and needed more assistance to get set up.

Since they are still in the process of developing a social media following, Services of Hope opted to contact prospective donors directly. Reaching out to anyone and everyone who seemed like a potential supporter, they got most of their sign-ups by using text message templates we provided and placing some calls as well. In addition, they followed up with people who had started the process of signing up without finishing it. And their efforts paid off — getting most of their sign-ups within the last few hours of the day, they met the goal and won the challenge!

For Services of Hope, next steps involve growing a social media following and encouraging more people on those platforms to get started with RoundUp. It’s safe to say that we’re as excited as they are to see what other successes this year holds.
